25 bookish facts about me

 

 

I wasn’t tagged to do this but I recently read marie@drizzleandhurricanebooks 25 bookish facts and was inspired, and if you haven’t done so already take a look at Marie’s blog.

 

1.  I constantly watch BookTube and then feel guilty for not reading my own books.
2. I will buy books without knowing much about them or by there covers alone
3. I buy the majority of my books second hand from the Charity shops.
4. I have been reading les Miserables for 5 months and only 550 pages  done
5. I can’t listen to audio books, they make me go to sleep or my mind drifts and then I don’t know what’s going on.
6. I have never been to a book event. I didn’t really knew they existed till last year (I was currently living under a rock and very naive)
7. I hardly have any bookish swag or items, I have 2 bookmarks and if I can’t find them or they are in use, I will use a photo or a piece of mail.  I really would like a pop funko.
8. I tend to read mostly in bed (but end up falling asleep after 10 pages)
9. I have a ridiculous amount of books currently on loan from the library and some of them I have just kept renewing over and over again.

• I was an idiot and thought I wouldn’t get books agreed on Netgalley that I literally asked for everything and got accepted for a lot so I am inundated with books, but I will still request more as I have a problem.

• My daughter tells me off every time I come home with a new book.
• As a kid I used to read the first half of books,put them down for a few weeks, go back to them and start again and repeat so I never actually got to the end of the books. Two that I remember doing this with is The BFG and The diary of Anne Frank.
• I like reading on my Kindle only for the dictionary use and using the coloured filters (Easier to read for dyslexics)- it’s so easy just to tap the word you don’t know and definition comes up.
• I prefer reading hardbacks
• I try to read the books before I see the movies, If I have seen the film first I won’t read the book.
• My favourite book of 2016 is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
• I don’t like loaning my books or someone reading it before I have – no! It’s mine!
• I cried whilst reading a book for the first time ever this month – Jojo Moyes you bitch!

• I can only read when I am alone and it’s quiet as I can’t concentrate.
• I don’t take notes when reading, I try and remember everything.
• I only started reading graphic novels/comics last year
• I don’t like the smell of books…controversial!
• My favourite genres are contemporary and children’s books.
• I own the complete series of the lunar chronicles and Throne of glass series but haven’t read any of them.
• I hate when you borrow a book from the library and some one has written in it(corrected the grammer) or torn a page out or when you find some mysterious stain or the pages are stuck together…yuck.

Sorry to end that on such a disgusting point. I can’t believe I came up with 25 facts…. Crazyness.
