#AntiBullyReads 2016 wrap up

This is to be a quick wrap up from me, #AntiBullyReads readathon was from the 14-20th November and all you had to do was read books that had some sort bullying involved. The idea of the readathon is to just spread awareness that bullying still happens in all shapes and form and really shouldn’t be happening in this day and age.

The Books I read:

This was a quick easy read, this is a middle grade novel about a girl called George and her struggles coming to terms with her identity and social acceptance. George is in fact a boy but feels he has been born the wrong sex. I really enjoyed this book, it was different to what I have read before and would definitely recommend 4/5 stars…review to come.

This book follows ‘Butter’ a 423lb (30st) teenager who has always struggled with his weight and being “invisible” to the other kids at school until one day he plans to kill himself with one last meal and airs it live on the internet. This book was great, Butter is such a relatable character and I was on the verge of tears for about 50% of this book 4.5/5 stars…Review to come.

That’s it, I am pretty pleased that I managed to read these 2 books and definitely made me more aware.

Have you read these books? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for reading

Louise x
